While the Children's Museum of the East End (CMEE) may have had to cancel the beloved Mad Hatter Egg Hunt this year, CMEE is still offering a fun at home option that children will adore. Inspired by the popular Gingerbread House at Home Fundraiser, "Egg-A-Palooza" will feature "Take-Home Egg Hunt Kits" - which boast 12 eggs filled with treats and prizes (including a coupon for a complimentary donut from Grindstone) - that grown ups can utilize to recreate the CMEE spring highlight in the comfort of their own home or backyard. A seasonal coloring activity is also included in the kit.

"When I realized that we'd have to cancel the Mad Hatter Egg Hunt this year, I don't know who was more disappointed…me or my boys," noted Steve Long, the Museum's President.

The "Take-Home Egg Hunt Kits" will be available for pick up or delivery starting Friday, March 12.

"While this year hasn't been all it's been cracked up to be, we couldn't be more egg-cited about this event," quipped Liz Bard, the Museum's Director of Education. "And, with Grindstone on board, do-nut miss your opportunity to take home a kit of your own!"

"Egg-A-Palooza" kits begin at $30. CMEE is also offering the option to celebrate "Egg-A-Palooza" with a private party at the Museum, which includes a 90-minute Egg Hunt, egg dying activity, and access to the CMEE's exhibits.

Proceeds from "Egg-A-Palooza" will support Food 2 Play, Children's Museum of the East End's food pantry, which was established in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The ongoing efforts serve more than 70 local families.

"I'm grateful that the Museum staff continues to think up with innovative ideas that allow families to enjoy CMEE while allowing us to serve the East End's most vulnerable," Long added.

Children's Museum of the East End is located at 376 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike in Bridgehampton. For more information, visit www.cmee.org.
