Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on December 7, 2020:
COVID-19 Testing
• 1,557,762 COVID-19 tests were administered, an addition of 12,137 tests
• 748 new cases were reported
• 67,860 total cases
• 4.4% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
• 5.4% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 5.5% positive on a 7-day average
• 6.2% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 6.1% positive on a 7-day average
Antibody Testing
• 31,411 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 tested positive for antibodies
• 299,900 in total have tested positive for antibodies
Fatalities
• 6 fatalities
• 2,083 total fatalities
COVID-19 Hospitalizations data from December 6, 2020
• 359 individuals were hospitalized, an increase of 7 in 24 hours
• 45 were new admissions
• 57 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 3 in 24 hours
• 29 patients were in the ICU and intubated
• 38 were discharged since the last report
• 6,614 have been discharged since March 22
Hospital Capacity
• 2,993 hospital beds, 703 available, 23 percent
• 393 ICU beds, 99 available, 25 percent
