The Friends of the John Jermain Library will be hosting their annual house tour, in support of the Sag Harbor based-library, on Friday, July 19, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. One of the top events of the Hamptons' summer season, this year's house tour features five beautiful Sag Harbor homes. The houses may be viewed in any order and tea will be served in the Egan's house also known as The John Jermain House.

20 Hempstead Street was built in 2014. The house with every amenity, detailing, and convenience of modern living, is meant to reflect the spirit of the whaling Captain's houses of 1800s Sag Harbor.

42 Suffolk Street, a beautiful Greek Revival built in the 1860s, offers all the charm of a 19th century home with the comfort and convenience of today due to the sophisticated redesign by top designers.

Built in 1850, 130 Madison Street was once owned by a whaling captain, fabled to be a stop on the Underground Railroad, and for a lengthy time a multiple dwelling house, this extraordinary five bedroom, six bath residence is newly created from the original home.

221 Main Street, also known as The John Jermain House, was built in 1780 by Major John Jermain when he settled in Sag Harbor after fighting in the American Revolution. The foundation actually consists of two houses brought to the lot, a saltbox originally built in the 1600's, now the dining area and a Federal style house, which forms the front of the house.

11 Oakland Avenue, a few steps off Main Street, is a charming Sag Harbor Cottage, vintage early 1800's, has been imaginatively rebuilt from the ground up opening up the typical many tiny rooms into an expansive space.

"The Sag Harbor House Tour is the primary fundraiser of The Friends of the John Jermain Library -- a volunteer organization whose efforts raise money to underwrite some of the many wonderful community programs provided at the Library and other projects as determined by the Library Director," stated Toby Spitz, Friends of the John Jermain Memorial Library President.

Tickets to the Friends of the John Jermain Library's Sag Harbor House Tour are $50 in advance or $55 on the day of.

The John Jermain Library, which is a member of the Suffolk Cooperative Library System, offers complimentary access to books, e-books, audiobooks, media, local history materials, museum passes, WiFi and public computers. It also presents a wide breadth of cultural programming, such as art exhibits, language classes, book clubs, movies and concerts.
