Salon Series will re-launch at the Parrish Art Museum on Friday, April 26 with Pianist Yi-Nuo Wang. For four consecutive Fridays, the Water Mill-based museum will welcome multi-award winning, world-class artists who will enchant audiences during concerts set in an intimate, casual venue inspired by the salons of Paris.

"We are thrilled with the extraordinary line up of accomplished performers for Salon Series this Spring," said Parrish Director Terrie Sultan.

While typically the programming highlights solo pianists, this year's line-up, which is co-programmed with Louis Meisel, Concert Artists Guild, Pro Musicis, and Yamaha Artists Services, Inc., will branch out to include a virtuoso trumpet player, guitar/cello duo, and a special chamber concert showcasing the New World Symphony. In addition to a wonderful evening of music, attendees will also be privy to insight and personal anecdotes from the performers, and have the chance to meet the musicians after the concerts.

"The Museum strives to illuminate the creative process of artists in myriad disciplines, and the intimate setting of Salon Series allows musical artists to engage in a dialogue with the audience about their program selection and approach to interpretation," Sultan noted.

Chinese pianist Yi-Nuo Wang, who was the First Prize winner of the 2018 Concert Artists Guild International Competition, as well as the 2017 Wideman International Piano Competition, recently took the stage as a featured soloist with the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic Society of Ukraine, and the Romanian Mihail Jora Philharmonic Orchestra in Italy. She will make her New York recital debut at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall in February 2020, and has been highlighted during solo recitals in Spain, Indonesia, and throughout China.

Her Salon Series performance will encompass Franz Joseph Haydn (1732-1809) Keyboard Sonata in E minor; followed by Eight Pieces for Piano (Acht Klavierstücke), Op. 76, by Johannes Brahms (1833-1897). The concert concludes with four works by Sergei Rachmaninoff (1873-1943): Daisies, Op. 38, No. 3; Prelude in G-flat Major Op. 23 No. 10; Etude in D minor Op. 39, No. 8; and Etude in D Major Op. 39, No. 9.

Following Yi-Nuo Wang, the 7th annual Salon Series will continue with the New World Symphony Ensemble on Friday, May 3, trumpeter Brandon Ridenour and pianist Jeremy Jordan on Friday, May 10, and guitar/cello duo Boyd Meets Girl on Friday, May 17. All concerts take place at 6 p.m.

Tickets range from $10 to $50, depending on the performers.
