"Alec and I have been hosting screenings of classic films in the winter for over a decade of a range of films, and we're really excited to check in to the Overlook Hotel for this weekend's screening of The Shining
," Nugent noted. "Kubrick's masterpiece is one of the scariest films of all time, and Alec and I look forward to discussing it following the screening."
Stanley Kubrick's screen adaptation of Stephen King's The Shining
stars Jack Nicholson
as Jack Torrance, who takes a winter caretaker gig at the remote Overlook Hotel in Colorado as a resort to cure his writer's block. Jack makes the move with his wife, Wendy (Shelley Duvall), and his son, Danny (Danny Lloyd), who soon after is distressed by psychic premonitions. The move offers no solace to Jack's writers block and Danny's visions become increasingly more troublesome. Eventually Jack unearths the hotel's disturbing secrets, leading to a sinister chain of events.
