Restaurateur Kristin Vincent, who owns Sel Rrose in New York City, has purchased 4 South Elmwood in Montauk, the building that previously housed Zum Schneider Montauk. The deal closed on September 12 for $2.75 million.

The restaurateur plans to open a Hamptons outpost of the Manhattan Parisian-themed restaurant, which is anticipated to open in the spring of 2019.

Prior to making its East End debut, Vincent plans to fully renovate the site, according to Manhattan law firm Warshaw Burstein who represented Vincent.

Sel Rrose's website describes the eatery as "a cocktail and oyster bar, and a New York drinking and dining institution," with a menu that "features a revolving variety of daily fresh oysters, full raw bar and a selection of seasonal and well-constructed French inflected plates." The interior was inspired by "the moody romance of early 20th century Paris, encapsulating an era of weathered grandiosity in its décor and the pensive, lingering drinking culture of the great artists and writers of the time."

Fashion360mag.com said the Manhattan restaurant is a venue where "the selfies you take will leave you looking like the person Marie Antoinette would want to be."

The restaurant's name pays homage to Rrose Sélavey, the female alter ego of Marcel Duchamp.

In addition to Sel Rrose, Vincent also owns Home Sweet Home in Williamsburg and Fig. 19 in Manhattan.
