Free Hamptons Symposium Focusing On The Future Of Healthcare

East Hampton: The Future of Healthcare, a free educational symposium sponsored by the East Hampton Healthcare Foundation, will be held on Saturday, September 8.

Taking place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Baldwin Family Lecture Room of the East Hampton Library, who is co-sponsoring the symposium along with Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, the morning will include vital healthcare information for those that reside on the East End.

"The Symposium will be a great opportunity for our citizens to learn about the present and future changes to healthcare services in the greater East Hampton community, since the Stony Brook Southampton Hospital partnership was finalized," Sheila Rogers, Director of The East Hampton Healthcare Foundation, noted.

Robert S. Chaloner, Chief Administrative Officer of Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, will serve as the Keynote Speaker. He will address the Evolving Healthcare System on the South Fork of Long Island.

Samuel Ryu, MD, Chair, Department of Radiation Oncology, Deputy Director, Stony Brook Cancer Center; Professor, Radiation Oncology and Neurosurgery, Stony Brook University; will cover Modern Cancer Care on Eastern Long Island.

Hal Skopicki, MD, Chief of Cardiology, Stony Brook University Heart Institute; Director, Heart Failure and Cardiomyopathy Center; Co-Director, Ventricular Assist Device Program SUNY-Stony Brook University School of Medicine Health Sciences Center; will discuss Stony Brook Southampton Hospital: A Cardiac Center of Excellence.

Darin G. Wiggins, MD, Vice Chair/Service Chief, Emergency Medicine, Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, will take a look at The Future of Emergency Care in East Hampton.

Admission to East Hampton: The Future of Healthcare is free, however seating is limited, so advanced registration is requested.
