The beloved annual Sag Harbor HarborFest will return to the Hamptons the weekend after Labor Day.

Described as the "biggest block party that extends over the water," the Festival is a celebration of the maritime history of Sag Harbor. The whole village comes together for an arts and crafts fair, tours, boat displays, live music, artist exhibitions, games, activities, food and The Whalers Cup Races - a fierce competition between whaleboats.

"HarborFest is a celebration of our proud whaling tradition in Sag Harbor," explained Lisa Field, President of Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce. "We showcase to the community what the industrious nature of our great country accomplished during the growth of our nation as we celebrate the importance of our place in history here in Sag Harbor."

Taking place Friday, September 7 through Sunday, September 9, HarborFest will kick-off with a Spotlight on Boating & Fishing and Harborfest Kick-off Party and concert from The Complete Unknowns. Additional happenings will include A Taste of Sag Harbor, live nautical music, children's tug-of-war, a corn shucking contest, potato sack race, hula-hoop contests, clam shucking contests, a clam chowder contest, a fire juggler and much, much more.

Additionally, tours through the Sag Harbor Whaling and Historical Museum, the Annie Boyd House and Museum as well as classic boat displays are available throughout the day.

For spectacular water views, board the American Beauty for a two-hour cruise. The boat departs from Long Wharf and is $42 for adults, $28 for children and free for those under four.

"We pay homage to this ceremoniously through our traditional whaleboat races while showcasing our local businesses and charitable organizations with an incredible block, party overlooking the water in the greatest village in the Hamptons," Field reflected. "The Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce is proud to present this weekend event."
