A farm-to-table fête is coming to Share the Harvest's six acre East Hampton farm that is bound to delight your taste buds. On Sunday, August 5, Share the Harvest will host its 9th Annual Benefit BBQ, which will commence at 5 p.m. with appetizers and cocktails. Dinner at the farm's community table will follow.

"The board and staff of Share the Harvest Farm thank our supporters for their unwavering support and enthusiastic encouragement, without which we could never have gotten to where we are today," shared Jess Tonn of Share the Harvest Farm.

In addition to the delicious array of dishes that were inspired by items harvested at the Farm, guests will listen to tunes from East End favorite, Inda Eaton, who will highlight songs from her new album, Shelter in Place.

Share the Harvest Farm was founded in 2010 by a group of volunteers and supporters who set out to address food insecurity. The organization's mission is to fight food insecurity locally with the fresh produce it grows at its East Hampton farm. Once harvested, that nutritious bounty is donated to local food pantries and other organizations - like South Fork food pantries, The Retreat, East Hampton Town Senior Citizens Nutrition Center, Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center, and Montauk Community Garden at St. Therese de Lisieux Parish Center.

Each year, Share the Harvest grows thousands of pounds of produce, including vegetables and herbs, which in turn helps to feed hundreds of local children, seniors, disabled people, and low-income working families. In addition to donating the produce, it is also available for purchase at Share the Harvest's Farm Stand, as are flowers and specialty products created with the farm's produce. All funds from the Farm Stand support the organization's mission of feeding those in need. The Farm Stand is open Memorial Day through Columbus Day, Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The organization also presents educational programs to inform the public about the nutritional and environmental benefits of organic farming practices and are inspiring the next generation through "Healthy Harvest", an agriculture-based learning program for preschool students in partnership with the Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center in East Hampton.

"We're looking forward to another magical evening of delicious local food, lively conversation, great music and stories, and the best sunset on the East End," Tonn added.

Tickets to 9th Annual Benefit BBQ start at $200.

Share the Harvest Farm is located at 55 Long Lane in East Hampton. For more information, visit www.sharetheharvestfarm.org.
