Stony Hill Stables
will welcome members of the community, budding equestrians, and supporters to its bucolic Amagansett grounds on Saturday, June 30 to raise funds for the Stony Hill Stables Foundation.
The Foundation, a not-for-profit organization, was established to champion equine sports through riding education and competitive riding opportunities for East End-based children and young adults. Stony Hill is the sole stable in Long Island that offers this unique scholarship program, which is now in its seventh year. Each scholarship winner meets with the Stony Hill team to create a customized program to ensure they get the most out of the program.
"For the past six years I have had the privilege to serve on the Benefit Committee where I have witnessed the amazing mission of the Foundation come to fruition. I am honored to be named the 2018 event Chair," reflected Event Chairwoman, Bailey Thompson, who currently trains with Stony Hill Stables owner and USDF Gold Medalist, Wick Hotchkiss
and has been a part of the Foundation since its start. "This Foundation is very special to me because I understand how significant these scholarships are and the great opportunities they provide to the recipients."
The annual Stony Hill Stables Foundation Benefit Cocktail Party will take place from 6 to 8 p.m., and include presentations from current scholarship students, Grand Prix riders Bailey Thompson and USDF Gold Medalist Wick Hotchkiss, the Stony Hill Stable's Pony Drill Team - who will be featured in a spectacular, specially choreographed performance, and the introduction of the scholarship winners. For the first time, the Benefit will also showcase an exhilarating Jumping Exhibition. In addition to all the equestrian excitement, attendees will enjoy delicious bites, refreshing sips, raffles, a silent auction, and more.
"I have been lucky to ride at Stony Hill since I began my riding career at the age of seven. I, along with many others, have learned so many tangible and intangible life lessons and skills that go beyond the stables; an experience that not many people may get in their lifetime
," added Thompson, "I am extremely proud to be part of a program that provides local children the opportunity to reap the benefits of our wonderful sport. I couldn't be more honored to further this hallmark tradition."
Tickets for the Stony Hill Stables Foundation Benefit are $125 for a single ticket and $200 for a couple. There is no admission fee for children under 12-years-old.
