Wellness Foundation will present a "salute to our community wellness champions" during its 7th annual summer benefit on Saturday, June 16. Taking place at Mulford Farm in East Hampton from 6 to 8 p.m., attendees will be treated to healthy yet delicious plant-based hors d'oeuvres by acclaimed chef and Vegan Iron Chef winner Jay Astafa, cocktails and live music by MTK the Band.

The evening will celebrate a group from the Foundation's Wellness Zone who have made a tremendous impact on the wellbeing of those around them.

"Wellness Foundation is thrilled to recognize wellness champions from all parts of our community, demonstrating the power of individual change to collectively create a culture of wellness," Brianna Kinnier, a WKids Coach, shared.

Honorees will include WKids Wellness Champions Kyla Cerullo and Christopher Cruz, sixth graders from Southampton Intermediate School; WKids School Leaders Beth Doyle, Principal at John M. Marshall Elementary School and Shawn Smith, Physical Education Teacher at Southampton Intermediate School; Wellness Challenge Champions Robert Colavito and Noelle Marcantonio; Local Farm Partner Amber Waves Farm; W Restaurant Partner Sabrosa Mexican Grill; Wellness Zone Business Partner Silich Core Strength; Corporate Wellness Partner Amaden Gay Agency; and Medical Community Partner Erin McKay, Nurse Practitioner at East Hampton Family Medicine.

Model and wellness enthusiast Carolyn Murphy and former New York Mets star Keith Hernandez will serve as Honorary Co-Chairs.

Attendees will also have the chance to meet author Matthew Prescott, who will be signing copes of his book, Food is the Solution: What to Eat to Save the World.

Tickets to Wellness Foundation's 7th annual summer benefit are $175 per person with discounted prices available to local teachers and those under the age of 25. Proceeds will support Wellness Foundation's school wellness programs on the East End.

Wellness Foundation was founded by Doug Mercer in 2005, who was inspired to create the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization after learning about East Hampton Middle School students that were boycotting unhealthy school lunch food. The Foundation's mission is to "empower children and adults with the information and tools they need to build a healthy future."

Mulford Farm is located at 10 James Lane in East Hampton. For more information, call 631-329-2590 or visit www.wfeh.org.
