Friday, February 2 marks the beginning of the eleventh annual Cabin Fever Music Festival. The idea to celebrate the local music of the East End was conceived by Brendon Henry, Seth Farrell, and Paul Fallo - all self-described "absolute music lovers" who wanted to bring attention to the musical talent on Long Island. Throughout the month of February, local bands and musicians will perform at various venues throughout the area.

"I am so proud that we have made it this far. It is all because of the awesome local community that has supported us since day one! What started with some buddies trying to create something to do in the doldrums of February, has turned into a cultural event that is about the art and artists," Henry explained.

"This year is very different for me personally - I am in the midst of running in a primary for Congressional District One, raising the coolest 5-year-old with my wife Brittany, all the while working two jobs, which makes my time limited," shared Henry. "I was lucky to have two partners come in to help run the festival. Steve Frankenbach and John Holub stepped up big to make sure we have the best year so far!"

The 2018 lineup features over 30 musical acts. The opening night, at Buckley's Inn Between in Hampton Bays, will feature two bands: Earthreal, a rock, blues, Reggae fusion band; and Samurai Pizza Cats, a ska, Reggae, funk band. Music begins at 9:30 p.m., with a $10 cover charge.

The following evening (Saturday, February 3), two bands will perform at M.J. Dowling's Steakhouse & Tavern in Sag Harbor: Nick Kerzner & Wandering Time, a rock, electronic, alternative group; and Born & Raised, a rock band. Performances will begin at 9:30 p.m., with no cover charge to attend.

On Thursday, February 8, the Southampton Publick House in Southampton will showcase acoustic talent with performers Liam Meany and Steve Meadors at 8 p.m. The following day, Friday, February 9, Buckley's Irish Pub in Center Moriches will host Souliztik, a band that performs originals and covers in the genres of rock, Reggae, funk, and ska music, and Flak Jacket - a trio of friends who served together in the military before forming their band in 2000.

On Saturday, February 10, Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett will host Project Vibe and The Realm, and on Sunday, February 11, North Sea Tavern in Southampton will host a matinee featuring five performers: An Old Friend, Necter, Adams Atoms, Bad Mary, and NLMI.

The third week of the festival will begin with performances by Grand Theft Aloha and Rock Doctor on Friday, February 16 at Doran's in Hampton Bays. On Saturday, February 17, music will return to Buckley's Inn Between with music by Satchel Boogie, a folk group, and Kyle Horn, a New York City based guitarist.

The final week of Cabin Fever Music Festival kicks off at Southampton Publick House on Thursday, February 22 at 8 p.m. The bar will again showcase acoustic talent with performances from Mick Hargreaves, Bryan Gallo, and Andrew Cooper. On Friday, February 23, The Encore Machines and Craig Whitney will be featured at Cowfish in Hampton Bays at 8:30 p.m.

On Saturday, February 24, Roses Grove Band, The Tumbleweeds, and The Tweekers will perform at 230 Down in Southampton at 8 pm. The final performances of the 2018 festival will be on Sunday, February 25 at Jimmy C's in Hampton Bays. The closing matinee party starts at 2 p.m. and features music from Shipwrecks, Black Leaf, The Ne're Do Wells, Warm Needles, and Haunted Hacienda.

"The East End has always been my home, and I am so grateful to be able to help keep our art and music scene flourishing," said Henry. "I am looking most forward to seeing as many amazing acts as I can this year. We have a deep pool of local talent in all genres, and it speaks volumes about our communities commitment to the arts."

Unless specified otherwise, all performances will begin at 9:30 p.m.
