Sea-Themed Hamptons Painting Party Includes Membership To Surfrider Foundation
Passionate about the environment and painting? You can combine your love for both during a Surfrider
Foundation Membership Drive Painting Party taking place at Southampton Arts Center
on Thursday, December 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. Instructor Carolyn Munaco will help guide attendees as they create a masterpiece in support of Surfrider Foundation
East End Chapter.
"The Painting Party is a fun way for us to have a membership drive!" explained Munaco, who is a Surfrider Volunteer Coordinator. "I am donating my time to instruct this painting to help protect our beautiful waterways and all those enjoy it from the smallest plankton to the largest whale."
Since it is a Surfrider Foundation East End Chapter fundraiser, participants can expect to create something visually stunning that pays homage to the vital causes that Surfrider works so hard to safeguard.
"Surfrider Foundation is a grassroots nonprofit environmental organization that works to protect our oceans, waves, and beaches through a powerful activist network," she noted. "The Eastern Long Island Chapter Is dedicated to maintaining and acquiring beach and ocean access rights, to preserve our coastline and improve overall quality of Long Island coastal environment."
Admission to the event is $30, $25 of which will go towards Surfrider Eastern Long Island Chapter membership. Current members who are interested in attending can also choose to gift a membership. The entry fee also covers materials, beverages, and snacks.
"Membership monies will help us fund some of our programs like The Blue Water Task Force Water quality monitoring program which samples over 50 local beaches weekly, beach clean ups all year long, working toward putting a stop to offshore drilling, rise above plastics, and youth education," Munaco added.
