Sag Harbor Historical Society Hosting Annual "Spirit Of The Season" Soiree
Sag Harbor Historical Society
is wrapping up 2017 by hosting one last fabulous soiree. The Society's Annual Spirit of the Season
Party will take place at the Annie Cooper Boyd House on Sunday, December 17, and all are invited.
"We are all apart of the history of beautiful Sag Harbor," shared Nancy Remkus
, Sag Harbor Historical Society trustee. "The Historical Society helps to keep this history alive!"
From 3 to 5 p.m., stop by for some community fun, seasonal sips, and to admire works by Annie Cooper Boyd, an American feminist, watercolorist and diarist and previous owner of the Society's headquarters
"Her paintings are not only beautiful to look at-they also tell the amazing history of our village, and as you know a picture paints a thousand words. Sometimes you can just imagine how beautiful Sag Harbor was in the 1800's-surrounded by fields and forest, wild and free," Remkus reflected. "Annie Cooper Boyd used to ride her horse through the woods and to the beach. She was very connected to nature and the beauty around her. Come see her work, speak with members of the historical society and join in the fun."
