The Peconic Community School is holding its sixth annual benefit, SHARE: Preserving our Place Through Education, at the Naugles Barn at Hallockville Museum Farm in Riverhead on Sunday, August 13 from 5 to 9 p.m. This summer fundraiser will honor science educators and celebrate student work.

"It's not your typical fundraiser," explained Co-Executive Director of Peconic Community School, Liz Casey Searl. "This event is more like summer camp for grown-ups, with games, smore's, ice cream sandwiches, and bonfires; it will remind you of your own magical childhood summers, and inspire you to support place-based, progressive education on the East End."

Guests will nosh on passed appetizers by local chef Martine Abitol, pizzas from Rolling in Dough, and locally prepared ice cream, sip on local wines and craft beers, and listen to live music by Bruce MacDonald Band. Additionally, the Peconic Community School will also present a silent auction with several highly anticipated items, like two tickets to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, a gift certificate to Bobby Flay's restaurant Gato, a two night stay at Mohegan Sun, a Manhattan penthouse for the weekend, and much more.

SHARE: Preserving our Place Through Education will pay tribute to honorees Barbara Butterworth and Phyllis Constan, two Trustees that have served as close advisors and mentors to school leaders and promoted science education throughout their careers.

"It's always such a beautiful evening, and a unique opportunity to celebrate this special place, the North Fork, and all to benefit education...this event brings together the perfect combination of local food and beverages, live music, a fantastic auction, and light-hearted summer fun," added Casey.

All funds raised from the evening support the Peconic Community School, an independent school for children ages 3-11. The school's mission is to foster reflective, resilient and compassionate learners in a safe, caring and trusting environment.

The Naugles Barn is located at 6038 Sound Avenue in Riverhead. For more information, call 631-779-2934 or visit peconiccommunityschool.org.
