Going to be on the North Fork on the days leading up to 4th of July? Here's where festive 4th of July happenings will be taking place:

Riverhead Raceway (1797 Old Country Road, Riverhead) is presenting fireworks, its 67th Year Celebration, Big Wheels and a Demolition Derby on Saturday, July 1. For more information, visit www.riverheadraceway.com.

Oysterponds Historical Society is hosting its 8th Annual Heritage Day on Sunday July 2, from 12 to 3 p.m. The home-grown celebration of local history and culture will feature festive community parades, with decorated bicycles, vintage vehicles and well-appointed pets, that will travel down Village Lane in Orient after gathering on Oysterponds Lane at 11:30 a.m. A reading of the Declaration of Independence will take place at Old Point Schoolhouse, followed by a picnic, games and local music at Poquatuck Park. Orient Yacht Club (2110 Village Lane, Orient) is presenting its Fireworks event on Sunday, July 2 from 5 to 10 p.m. For more information, visit www.orientyc.com.

Celebrate Independence Day with the Town of Riverhead and The Riverhead Business Improvement District on Monday, July 3 from 6 to 9 p.m. The free family and community People's United Bank sponsored event at the Peconic Riverfront Downtown will feature music by Jetstream NY and Brady Rymer. The New Suffolk 25th Annual Fourth of July Parade will take place on Tuesday, July 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The parade will begin at Tuthill Road and New Suffolk Road, continue south on New Suffolk Road and turn left onto Main Street and then right onto First Street, ending at New Suffolk Beach. The Southold Village Fourth of July Parade, sponsored by Southold Village Merchants, will be held on Tuesday, July 4 from 12 to 1 p.m. The parade will head down Main Road from Boisseau Avenue to Southold American Legion Griswold-Terry-Glover Post 803. For more information, visit www.facebook.com.

The Phenix Hook & Ladder Co. and Relief Hose Company Carnival at the Polo Grounds (Moore's Lane, Greenport) will begin on Independence Day and continue through Saturday, July 8. The Cross Sound Ferry's 28th Annual Fireworks Benefit Cruise will be held on Saturday, July 8. The cruise aboard the M.V. John H. will depart from Orient Point at 7 p.m. and sail to New London as attendees enjoy one of the largest fireworks displays in the country. Proceeds from the evening will support the Town of Southold Youth Court and scholarship funds for the Greenport, Mattituck and Southold high schools.
