Sag Harbor Historical Society Hosting "Paint The Town" At Breakwater Yacht Club

On Saturday, June 17, help the Sag Harbor Historical Society
"Paint the Town" from 6 to 8 p.m. as the Society hosts their annual benefit at the Breakwater Yacht Club in Sag Harbor.
"This will be a wonderful evening for all - great food, great company, and a great view overlooking the beautiful harbor which was once a bustling whaling port," said Historical Society trustee Nancy Remkus
. "Your help supporting this event will help to keep the history of our village alive and well as the Historical Society helps to preserve the grand history of our village."
In addition to the lively seasonal soiree, summer at the Historical Society will feature the chance to view Across Time- Contemporary Reflections on the life and Art of Annie Cooper Boyd
, featuring contemporary reflections on the life and art of Annie Cooper Boyd, which will be highlighted both at the Historical Society and at the John Jermain Memorial Library. On view through Sunday, October 15, the exhibition showcases an extraordinary collection of artwork, excerpts from her diary and archival photographs from Cooper Boyd, a Sag Harbor-based artist of the late 19 and early 20 centuries. The exhibit also features works by student artists from Pierson.
The Society was established in 1985 and incorporated in 1989. Its mission is to promote and encourage public education and appreciation of Sag Harbor history, as well as work toward the preservation of historic sites and historic character of the village.
Tickets to the "Paint the Town" benefit are $100 per person and can be purchased online or at the door.
