"Spring is typically a busy season when it comes to real estate," said Dee Kerrigan Perfido of Kerrigan Country Realty. "It is a time when more properties become available and when buyers are most active."
Those looking to make the move to the East End, take notice. The 7th Annual Long Island and Queens RealtorŪ Open House Weekend, hosted by the Long Island Board of RealtorsŪ, Inc. (LIBOR), will be held on Saturday, April 9th and Sunday, April 10th. Locally, Compass East Realty and Ponquogue Point Properties Inc. in Hampton Bays, and Island Polo Realty and Kerrigan Country Realty in Westhampton Beach are participating in the Open House Weekend. "Open houses are a key to success in the spring market, and are a boost to spring home-buying activity," noted Kerrigan Perfido. "To celebrate spring and kick-off the season, RealtorsŪ throughout the Greater Westhampton Beach Area are taking part in RealtorŪ Open House Weekend."
Finding the home of your dreams can be a daunting, drawn out experience, but 87 percent of U.S. households believe homeownership is part of their American Dream, according to the National Association of RealtorsŪ (NAR). The event will allow potential buyers to pick the brains of local experts about the market, and the buying and selling process. Throughout the two day event, thousands of open houses will take place through Nassau, Suffolk, and Queens.
"This event truly marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring for real estate sales in all our communities. Buyers and Sellers agree this event is a wonderful opportunity to promote and engage home sales and purchase across Long Island and Queens," said Mary Alice Ruppert, LIBOR President. "Our RealtorŪ members devote a great deal of energy and promotion to this weekend-long event, to facilitate bringing potential buyers and sellers together." For first time buyers, the event may assist with figuring out a wish list and what's essential in a home. "This is the single largest RealtorŪ/Consumer event in our area that allows potential buyers to engage experienced professionals to assist them with their dream of homeownership," added Ruppert.
