"Our Hops for Habitat Art + Awareness Event Series has helped us draw attention to the importance of underwater marine habitat, and the species and industries that rely on it," shared Kimberly Barbour, Marine Program Outreach Manager at Cornell Cooperative Extension Education Center (CCE).

Following a successful 2015 Hops for Habitat debut at Montauk Brewing Company in October, the exhibit is set to make the move to the North Fork, for a second installation at Greenport Harbor Brewing Company. The CCE series will open on Friday, November 6th and be on display through Sunday, December 6th. All featured works were created by local artists and inspired by the East End marine environment. Proceeds from the show will be split between the artists and CCE's Marine Meadows Program.

"Ann Vandenburg has put together a truly special exhibit, featuring prominent local artists and their interpretations of elements of local marine life and coastal living," noted Barbour. "We invite all to join us at the Opening this Friday to view the exhibit, learn more about our efforts, and perhaps make a purchase of original artwork in support of Cornell Cooperative Extension's Marine Meadows Program."

Hops for Habitat artists will include Christina Sun, Lindsay Hoffmann, Amy Worth, Kathleen Bifulco, Hector DeCordova, Randee Daddona, Julianne Karsten, Corey Solinger, Cynthia Wells, Diane Burke, Cindy Pease Roe, Scott Bluedorn, Jackie Black, Liz Schaeffler, Matthew M. Salerno, Maggie Merrill, Chris Paparo, Melissa Hyatt, Margaret Knowlden, Mark Terry, and Caroline Waloski.

"Greenport Harbor Brewing Company really understands the importance of our marine resources, and has been a great partner in supporting our efforts to help restore our bays," said Barbour. "We're thrilled to be partnering with them to hold what has become and annual event at their Tasting Room Gallery in Greenport."

An exhibit opening celebration will be held on Friday, November 6th from 6 to 9 p.m. at Greenport Harbor Brewing Company. Admission is free.

CCE's Marine Meadows Program aims to restore the eelgrass meadows population in our local bays.

Greenport Harbor Brewing Company is located at 234 Carpenter Street in Greenport. For more information, call 631-727-7850 x 329 or visit ccesuffolk.org.
