No matter if you're solo this Valentine's Day or in love, here are five fun ways to commemorate Saint Valentine.

1. Hallockville Museum Farm (6038 Sound Avenue, Riverhead) is holding a Valentine Brooch Applique Class on Saturday, February 7th from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Attendees will create a hand-made wool appliqué brooch for themselves or their valentine, which can also be made as a hanging ornament. The workshop is open to all skill levels and will feature blanket and French knot embroidery stitches, as well as the basics of appliqué layering and working with wool. Admission is $40 for general admission and $30 for museum members. Advance registration required. For more information, call 631-298-5292 or visit www.hallockville.com.

2. East End Arts School is holding a free special happening in honor of Saint Valentine. On Saturday, February 7th at 2 p.m., listen to the words and feelings of love during "The Long Island Love Story," a poetry and performance event. The celebration at the School's Carriage House (located behind the School at 141 East Main Street, Riverhead) will showcase works by Long Island artists and featured poet Lucas Hunt. Entry is free with a suggested $5 donation. For more information, call 631-369-2171 or visit eastendartsorg.

3. Suffolk Theater (118 East Main Street, Riverhead) is embracing the passionate holiday with two Valentine's Day weekend happenings. On Friday, February 13th at 8 p.m., join them for a risqué evening featuring Coney Island Burlesque. The racy revival pays tribute to the infamous "girlie revues" from Coney Island's illustrious past. The modern day burlesque show will include an updated twist, along with side-show freaks, vaudeville, and memorable tunes. Tickets are $32 and the performance is 18 and over only. On Saturday, February 14th at 8 p.m., laugh, dine, and dance during a Valentine's Day show with comedienne Elayne Boosler. During her seasoned career, the funny lady has become a staple on the talk show circuit appearing on "Comic Relief" and "Politically Incorrect" over 30 times. Boosler has also made a name for herself as a writer, penning five comedy specials for Showtime as well as two movies for Cinemax, which she also directed. Tickets are $48. For more information, call 631-727-4343 or visit suffolktheater.com.

4. In the words of Fred Jacob, "True love is like a fine wine, the older the better."
