Flanders artist Andrea Cote's "A Port of Views" was recently approved by the Greenport Village Board to be installed next summer on the Observation Deck in Mitchell Park. A preview of the project is being held at the Floyd Memorial Library starting Sunday, December 28, 2014 through Saturday, February 7, 2015.

The multimedia art project includes imagery of Greenport families who have resided in the North Fork Village for several generations. "Everyone seems to know each other in this close-knit town and the family connections go far back," noted Cote on her website. "There is a real reverence for its history, and after spending hours around town by the waterfront, the old cemeteries, the ferry, in the archive room at the library, and in people's homes, I hope that I can bring that out in the project." The exhibit at Floyd Memorial Library will also feature series of related photographs, silkscreens and video.

An opening reception for "A Port of Views" will be held on Sunday, December 28th from 3 to 5 p.m.

Floyd Memorial Library is located at 539 First Street in Greenport. For more information, visit aportofviews.wordpress.com.
