What better place to pursue your dreams of acting and directing than the Manhattan Film Institute's Summer Film Camp for actors and directors? The film school is holding a one-of-a-kind camp through July 20th, at Peconic Landing in Greenport. The program is a great experience for young, aspiring actors and directors to learn from the best in the field.

"We just started our first day of filming - 25 films in five and a half days - with only four days to prepare - and we're off to the races now," said Manhattan Film Institute Founder Tony Spiridakis.

The Manhattan Film Institute and Peconic Landing are also teaming up for a Summer Film Series, which is open to the public. The screenings start with "The Fugitive" on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. Joe Pantoliano, who was featured on "The Sopranos," will host the event. Pantoliano stars alongside Harrison Ford in the action blockbuster. Wrongfully accused of killing his wife, Dr. Richard Kimble (Ford) must find the real killer while being targeted in a nationwide manhunt. Following the screening, Pantoliano will chat about his role in "The Fugitive" as well as other key roles he has starred in throughout his career.

On Thursday, July 17, at 7:30 p.m. the award-winning film, "Les Misérables," will be screened. "Graceland" star Aaron Tveit will host the evening. Tveit starred alongside Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried in the movie adaption of the Broadway hit.

The final screening is on Saturday, July 19, at 7:30 p.m., and will feature, "The Usual Suspects." The movie centers around five career criminals who meet one another in an ostensibly random police line-up. Chazz Palminteri is screening the film, in which he starred in alongside Kevin Spacey, Gabriel Byrne and Stephen Baldwin.

"Peconic Landing is thrilled to have Manhattan Film Institute back on our campus with its summer film camp for actors and directors for the third year," said Dominic Antignano, Peconic Landing cultural arts coordinator. "MFI is a boutique conservatory with a world-class faculty, and many that were here in its inaugural year are back again.

Tickets are $15 per screening.

The Peconic Landing Community Center is located at 1500 Brecknock Road in Greenport. For tickets, visit peconiclanding or call 631-477-2583.
