"Orange Is the New Black," the hit Netflix series created by Jenji Kohan (who is also known for Showtime's "Weeds"), will film a few scenes for the upcoming second season in Riverhead. The show stars Taylor Schilling as Piper Chapman, a woman in her thirties who is convinced of a decade-old crime (transporting money for her drug-dealing girlfriend played by "That '70s Show" star Laura Prepon), and is sentenced to fifteen months in prison.

The series, which is based on Piper Kerman's memoir "Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison," will shoot at the Suffolk County Correctional Facility in Riverhead. No word yet on which cast members will be involved in the scenes.

There is also a strong possibly they will film at the Suffolk Theater. "When they were doing the jail scenes, they were going to be taking the crew back to another theater in Nassau, but when the crew was out here they noticed the Suffolk Theater," Riverhead Deputy Town Attorney Jill Lewis told the North Forker. "So they figured, 'Why go there, when this is already nearby?'"

A casting call was put out for East End residents of all ages and ethnicities to take part in the filming. While they were looking for both men and women, the agency did have one important requirement, "the scarier the look, the better."

The second season of "Orange Is the New Black" is expected to be available for streaming in spring 2014.
