Citizens for Access Rights (CFAR) and the Hamptons Drive-In are hosting a Family Outdoor Movie Night on Thursday, August 15, at Maidstone Park Ball Field in East Hampton.

The evening will feature a screening of "Despicable Me," the 2010 animated comedy from Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment. The film is based on the original story by Sergio Pablos and was directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud. "Despicable Me" stars Gru, voiced by Steve Carell, a super-villain who adopts three girls from an orphanage and uses them as pawns in his grand scheme but their love changes his outlook.

Gates open at 7:30 p.m. and the movie begins at 8:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring beach chairs and blankets. The cost is $5 for non-members and free for CfAR members. The rain date is Friday, August 30.

Proceeds from the movie night will benefit CFAR whose mission is to protect all forms of public access to East End beaches.
