The Southampton Animal Shelter (SASF) partnered up with Maddies Fund, and broke records at the Maddies Fund Adopt-A-Thon weekend. On Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2, a total of 58 dogs and 12 adult cats were adopted to loving homes.

Kathy Ferraro, SASF's Public Trainer noted, "Five of our dogs we brought to Petco on Broadway in New York City, were adopted to qualified homes within the first hour we opened up our booth! Some of the dogs were rescues from a kill shelter in Georgia. Our partners at the Humane Society of North West Georgia had driven them up less than a week ago!"

The mission of Maddies Fund is to revolutionize the status and well-being of companion animals, and was named after a rescued miniature schnauzer named Maddie owned by the husband and wife team who started the foundation.

SASF is located at 102 Old Riverhead Road West in Hampton Bays. For more information visit www.southamptonanimalshelter.com or call 631-728-7387.
