Cutchogue - The seventh annual St. Patrick's Day Parade, sponsored by the North Fork Chamber of Commerce, marched through the streets of Cutchogue this Saturday, March 12, 2011, under picture perfect skies and near 50-degree temps.

Over 40 groups including a large contingent from the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, local civic and business groups, local bands and performing troupes, bagpipers, and a host of fire departments from across the North Fork turned out in their green finery for the day. The seasonable weather made for a perfect day for marchers and parade watchers alike.

Grand Marshal Paula Thorp, a community activist who hails from East Marion, was all smiles as were the officials on the reviewing stand who announced each group to a resounding cheer from the assembled masses. It would appear that in Cutchogue, everyone loves a parade.

As the parade ended, once again the Cutchogue Fire Department hosted the community for refreshments post-parade. Te house was literally packed to overflowing as the Peconic Warpipes played an encore inside the firehouse.
