Hallock's Bay Paddle And BBQ
On Friday, August 20 (5 p.m. to 9 p.m.) - Join in for a scenic evening paddle on Hallock's Bay, along the shores of Orient Beach State Park. Participants will search for wildlife from the water and then gather to enjoy a sunset BBQ before heading home. Dinner will be provided but bring something to drink (supplies must be transported in your kayak or canoe). Fee for the paddle and BBQ is $25 ($15 for children under 12). If you do not have your own boat, single kayaks can be rented for $30, double kayaks for $50. For reservations or more information, contact Kate Schertel
at 631-765-6450, ext. 208 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Goldsmith Inlet Clean-Up
On Saturday, August 21 (8:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.) - Join ins for an early celebration of the International Coastal Clean-up, which is traditionally held in September. From the shores of Greece to local beaches, volunteers all over the world chip in to clean-up their local shorelines as part of the Ocean Conservancy's program. An essential part of this clean-up involves the recording of debris that's picked up. This information is crucial in implementing strategies to solve the problem of ocean debris. This year GEE is partnering with the Group to Save Goldsmith Inlet to clean-up the entire Goldsmith area. Please bring a pair of gloves. Light snacks will be provided. For reservations or more information, contact Jenn Hartnagel
at 765-6450, ext. 211 or at email@example.com.
