SOFO: Build an Underwater Remote Operated Robot with OceansWide—Engineering Workshop: C9+

Tuesday, July 23, 2019

10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Program Leaders: Engineers from OceansWide, Melanie Meade, SOFO
Education and Outreach Coordinator

Learn how remote-controlled underwater vehicles (ROVs) work and how
these robot machines help scientists explore the oceans from our near-
shore bays to the deepest abyss. Young marine engineers will construct
a working model ROV and pilot their craft in a real-world exploration
underwater in Sag Harbor. This enrichment experience is free, thanks
to the support of an anonymous donor. Students should bring a bag
lunch and sunscreen. Limited space available.
