Hampton Theatre Company's first play of the 2019-2020 season will be Ken Ludwig's Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery
. The production will open on Thursday, October 24 at the Quogue Community Hall and run through Sunday, November 10. The play has been described as a "murderously funny adventure" and is sure to entertain.
The play features Holmes and Watson who must sort out a dizzying web of clues, silly accents, disguises, and deceit as three actors in the cast of five impressively portray a whopping forty characters.
"Get your deerstalker cap on - the play's afoot! From the award winning mastermind of mayhem, Ken Ludwig, comes a fast-paced comedy about everyone's favorite detective solving his most notorious case," said Terry Brennan, General Manager of The Hampton Theatre Company. "Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson must crack the mystery of 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' before a family cures dooms its newest heir."
A reviewer for Broadway World proclaimed that "the joy is not in solving the crime but in the plethora of wildly imaginative characters you meet along the way ... a play that is ingeniously funny and will keep you guessing until the curtain call."
