Three time Grammy songwriter and performing musician, Brady Rymer will lend his expertise to next year's East End Arts Music Masters 2018 Fellowship Program. The program will be held on Tuesdays, January through February 2018, at the EEA School in Riverhead (January 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, February 6) from 4 to 7 p.m. Musicians are invited to apply to be a part of this intensive six-week workshop. Participants will learn hands-on and jam with one of the great musicians of our time.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for students to develop their songwriting skills while working with a Master in this field," said Diane Giardi, Education Director at EEA.

High school musicians (ages 14-18) with exceptional musical ability and commitment to their growth should apply for this rigorous workshop. Students can expect to be immersed in a variety of musical styles, with influences from Folk to Rock to Motown. Several musical instruments, from the banjo to trumpet, and everything in between, will be part of Brady's workshops. He will also assist students in writing original works, arranging, bringing their pieces to life, and performing life.

Students will have the chance to record a session in the Music Masters Program. Three hour weekly rehearsals will strengthen students' abilities and prepare them for their finale concert in a professional venue.

Rymer had a decade-long career with RCA Records jam band From Good Homes and recorded with acts from the Dave Matthews Band to Bob Dylan to Bob Weir's Ratdog. He ventured into family music and started his own family, releasing "Good Morning, Gus" in 2000. Since then, he has released eight CDs, including 2017's Grammy-nominated "Press Play," 2014's Grammy-nominated "Just Say Hi!" and the 2008 Grammy-nominated "Here Comes Brady Rymer and the Little Band That Could."

Rymer's work is described as rootsy, accordion-laced pop and rock music that regularly wins critical acclaim and national awards. He has earned three children's Grammy nominations as well as numerous Parents' Choice Gold and NAPPA (National Parenting Publications) Gold Awards. When Rymer is not playing with his own band, he plays bass guitar with the Laurie Berkner Band and also performs a few select shows every year with the band From Good Homes.

Interested candidates must fill out an online application form and submit performance samples. Space is limited and advance registration is required. The workshop fee is $35 and the deadline to apply is December 2, 2017.
