The First Weekend Of Spring To Bring Complimentary Artist Critique To The Hamptons

Nicole Barylski

Have you spent winter burrowed inside channeling your artistic side?

Stop by The Victor D'Amico Institute of Art's The Mabel and Victor D'Amico Studio and Archive in Amagansett during the final weekend in March, where a two-day Spring Critique is happening. During the event, artists can speak with professional artists and VDIA/The Art Barge Instructors George Negroponte and Michael Rosch about their latest works. The duo will conduct a critique of each piece that artists submit.

"The Victor D'Amico Institute of Art is delighted to host a two-day Spring Critique at the D'Amico Studio and Archive in Lazy Point," shared Esperanza León of The Art Barge. "Artist/instructors George Negroponte and Michael Rosch will be available from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday 24th March and Sunday 25th March, respectively."

Open to artists aged 16-years-old and up, participants can showcase two to four pieces that will be displayed on an easel or 24" table top. Featured mediums may include paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography, prints, and digital artwork.

Negroponte will lead the evaluations on Saturday, while Rosch will review works on Sunday.

Additionally, Christopher Kohan will lead a brief tour of the Studio and Archive and attendees are welcome to explore the grounds and waterfront, weather permitting. Light refreshments will follow the lecture and excursion.

Admission to the Spring Critique is free, but advance registration is required to participate. Space is limited to 15 artists per day.

The Studio and Archive is located at 128 Shore Road in Amagansett. For more information, call 631-267-3172 or visit theartbarge.org.
