Artists Rachel Moseley and Katie O'Hagan will explore identity, youth, and contemporary culture in RJD Gallery's The Girl Next Door
, an exhibition that supports Hetrick-Martin Institute
(HMI), the oldest and largest organization committed to serving LGBTQ youth.
During the Opening Reception of The Girl Next Door
on Saturday, July 22 from 6 to 8:30 p.m., a percentage of sales, as well as a raffle, will be donated to HMI. "RJD Gallery looks forward to collaborating with Hetrick-Martin Institute to raise funds and awareness for the LGBTQ youth," shared Eve Gianni Corio, RJD Gallery Director.

"The Girl Next Door
exhibition explores the themes of youth, image and identity in hopes of challenging the viewer to look beyond the exceptionally rendered intimate portraits and appreciate the psychological landscape of artist and subject," Corio explained.
Through photorealistic figurative paintings the two artists create intense and intimate works that viewers immensely connect with. Moseley focuses on pop-portraits that highlight the diverse contemporary youth where she lives while O'Hagan's psychological landscapes push for self-examination and defy the viewer to look past the outward appearance.
"The arts are a tremendously powerful medium for connecting people and building bridges towards a deeper appreciation of the personal journeys
we all make and challenges we all face," noted HMI CEO, Thomas Krever
. "We are so grateful to RJD Gallery, its owner, Richard Demato
, and the artists Rachel Moseley and Katie O'Hagan, for proactively connecting their network and community to ours."
In addition to The Girl Next Door
, works by Daniel Pollera
, a Hamptons based painter who specializes in architectural landscapes and seascapes, Italian painter, Marco Martelli and UK-based painter, Rick Garland will also be on display. "Enhancing the context of our theme, we are also highlighting the landscapes of realist, Hamptons artist, Daniel Pollera, meet the artists and enhance your collection!" Corio added.
The Girl Next Door
will be on display through Sunday, August 13.
