On Thursday, June 8, Out of the Question, a salon conversation series that brings together notable East Enders, will return to Southampton Arts Center for a lively conversation that focuses on The Business of Art: Passion or Profit?

"I'm looking forward to a candid conversation with four people with out-sized reputations in the art world," shared moderator Warren Strugatch. "The role of artists in society today is more important than ever in terms of seeing through the fog of political rhetoric and confronting the realities of our society and our culture."

The Business of Art: Passion or Profit? panelists will include Eric Fischl, painter, sculptor, printmaker; Toni Ross, artist, sculptor, ceramicist; Rick Friedman, founder, ArtHampton; and Ruth Vered, founder, Vered Art Gallery.

"Understanding what motivates and inspires artists is particularly timely at this moment," said Strugatch.

Audience participation helps set Out of the Question apart, as the crowd's input often helps shape the direction of the conversation. "This type of programming is an important part of Southampton Arts Center's mix of cultural offerings. Warren's series not only showcases local and diverse points of view, but creates unique and inclusive conversations," shared Amy Kirwin, Director of Programs at of the Southampton Arts Center. "Audience members are welcome - if they choose - to jump right into the idea exchange."

Out of the Question kicked off with Real Estate: What's Trending 2017 featuring Pamela Liebman, President & CEO, The Corcoran Group; Joe Farrell, CEO, Farrell Building Co; Judi Desiderio, CEO, Town & Country Real Estate; and Zachary Vichinsky, co-founder and President, Bespoke Real Estate.
