Visions of magnificent sugar plums will be dancing in the heads of Hamptons audiences when The Hampton Ballet Theatre School
(HBTS) presents its annual Tchaikovsky
's The Nutcracker
at Guild Hall
in East Hampton on Friday, December 6, Saturday, December 7, and Sunday, December 8.
"We are so excited to bring the 11th annual Nutcracker
to the Hamptons," Sara Jo Strickland
, Hampton Ballet Theatre School Director, who choreographed the production, relayed. "Our dancers have been working very hard to perfect every dance and create a magical holiday performance."
The holiday classic takes audiences on a journey to a far, far away land, where angels, snowflakes and flowers dance and Clara rescues the Nutcracker Prince from the wicked Mouse King. This year's ensemble will feature Corrina Castillo and Ana Kastrati, who will share the role of the Arabian Princess, partnered by guest artists Nick Peregrino
and Hector Cerna, respectively. Sedona Silvera
and Marrina Jacka
will share the role of Dew Drop Princess, partnered by guest artist Josep Maria Monreal and Nick Peregrino. The Snow Queen will be danced by Samantha Grabb and Holiday Bovio, partnered by guest artists Josep Maria Monreal and Hector Cerna.
"We will honor two of our seniors this year dancing in their final Nutcracker
as Sugar Plum Fairies," Strickland shared. For one last bittersweet time, seniors Devon Friedman and Samantha Prince will share the role of Sugar Plum Fairy, partnered by guest artists James Stevko and Nick Peregrino as Cavalier.
Once again Yuka Silvera
has lent her talent, hand-sewing the stunning costumes she designed and Sebastian Paczynski
will provide the exceptional lighting design.
"Join us for this very special holiday performance where angels, snowflakes and flowers dance and Clara saves the Nutcracker Prince from the evil Mouse King," Strickland encouraged.
can be seen on Friday, December 6 at 7 p.m., Saturday, December 7 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, December 8 at 2 p.m. Tickets range from $20 to $50.
