A seasonal tradition that will delight all ages is taking center stage at Guild Hall
in East Hampton over Earth Day weekend. Hampton Ballet Theatre School
(HBTS) students will present their annual spring production, Coppelia
, on Friday, April 20 at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 21 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 22 at 2 p.m.

," Sara Jo Strickland
, HBTS Director - who choreographed the production, said. "This ballet will showcase the older dancers of HBTS as well as many younger cast members."
The charming comedic tale follows the courtship of Swanhilda and Franz, who also becomes infatuated with Coppelia, a life-size dancing doll created by Dr. Coppélius. Swanhilda, the young villager's true heart's desire, shows Franz his blunder by imitating the doll and acting as if she came to life, which in the end saves him from making a costly mistake.
HBTS's performance will feature guest artists Nick Peregrino
and Adam and Gail Baranello
of A&G Dance Company
. Advanced professional students Devon Friedman and Vincenzo James Harty will take on the lead roles of Swanhilda and Franz. Coppelia
will highlight stunning costumes designed and hand sewn by Yuka Silvera
and lighting designed by Sebastian Paczynski
"Come support this wonderful group of dancers as they transport you to a beautiful village in the height of spring!" Jo Strickland added. "If we don't have spring here, in the Hamptons, yet, then definitely come see Coppelia
at Guild Hall!"
