The Fourth Annual Songwriters Share Concert Series
will give back to the community yet again, this time with artist Inda Eaton
who will be playing in support of Project MOST
This beloved event features local songwriters who share with the audience what inspired them to write their songs. In addition, the musicians will generously share the proceeds of the concert with a local charity of their choice. So, concertgoers not only support local musicians and local charities, but also get an intimate, inside look at the songwriting process through these talented musicians. The Songwriters Share
Concerts will be held the first Friday of each month through June.
"We are so excited to have the very talented Inda Eaton perform for the fourth annual Songwriters Share Concert Series! Anyone that has heard Inda sing and tell her stories knows what a fun and enchanting evening this will be," remarked Nancy Remkus
, who curates the series.
Eaton will be featured in the second concert of 2018. The cutting edge singer, songwriter, and storyteller has received nationwide critical acclaim for her innovative songwriting. She is often compared to a fusion of John Mellencamp
and Melissa Etheridge
. Eaton has been spending time in the studio recording new material for her upcoming album to following her highly acclaimed last album, Go West.
There is also a web series Behind Go West
, which is available at indaeaton.com
, that documents the storytelling, songwriting, and production process.
"An amazing songwriter, Inda also has a way of connecting with the audience that makes you feel right at home as she talks directly to your heart," Remkus added. "She has a brilliant way of seeing the world and reporting on it that just makes you smile."
Eaton and her band have opened for notable names such as Hootie and the Blowfish, LeAnn Rimes
, Smashmouth, Chicago
, and John Hiatt. When Eaton isn't on the stage, she works with students through her music education program, Ideas to Inspire.
During Songwriters Share, she will be playing to benefit Project MOST, an East Hampton-based organization committed to building on the strengths of children by providing kids with a range of academic support, enrichment activities, physical exercise, and positive social development every day. It is their hope to open children's eyes to the world and help them find their place in it. Project MOST is a New York State licensed after school and 501c3 organization, not for profit.
"Inda has been supporting Project MOST for the past three years," noted Rebecca Morgan Taylor
, Project MOST Executive Director. "She not only supported us with fundraising efforts but the Project MOST students have had the pleasure of working with her and her band on learning the process of creating an original song."
Eaton will be performing on Friday, February 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Meetinghouse of the South Fork, a beautiful, warm and intimate setting with wonderful acoustics. A complimentary reception follows the concert with an opportunity to speak with the artist and fellow concertgoers.
"We are so lucky to have Inda on our team!" added Morgan Taylor.
Additional upcoming Songwriters Share concerts include Caroline Doctorow
playing for The Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreation Center on March 2, Fred Raimondo playing for The Retreat
on April 6, Gene Casey
- accompanied by Tricia Scotti - playing for Turtle Rescue of the Hamptons on May 4, and five local songwriters on June 1.
