Why limit letting your little one proudly display their haunting Halloween attire to just one day? These local festivities let them prolong the seasonal fun for over a week.

The spooky East End celebrations begin with the Children's Museum's Annual Halloween Bash on Friday, October 21st from 4 to 6 p.m. Taking place at the Children's Museum of the East End (376 Bridgehampton/Sag Harbor Turnpike, Bridgehampton, www.cmee.org), the family-friendly festivity will feature an evening of ghoulish games, trick or treating, creepy crafts, a costume parade and more. Advanced registration is recommended, as the bash does typically sell out.

Explore seven rooms of horror during a Spooktacular Haunted House at Southampton Arts Center (25 Jobs Lane, Southampton, southamptonartscenter.org). Produced by Oscar Gonzalez, watch out for monsters that may or may not be hiding under beds, terrifying clowns, a devilish butcher, zombies, a forest of skeletons and more. The Spooktacular Haunted House will be open Friday, October 21st through Monday, October 31st from 5 to 10 p.m., and the lights will remain on for the first hour for little ones who want to limit the spook factor.

Long Island Aquarium (431 East Main Street, Riverhead, www.longislandaquarium.com) is hosting Bats, Barnacles & Broomsticks - its annual Halloween Party - on Saturday, October 29th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. "Buoys" and "ghouls" can trick or treat throughout the Aquarium and children who come in costume will receive 50 percent off admission with a paying adult (one child 12 years and under, per adult). During the spooky spectacle, the Unearthing Atlantis Dig will be transformed into a "Pirate's Nightmare Haunted House" with a little help from HauntedProps.com. But, it's not all about the haunted happenings here, as an adorable Penguin Costume Parade will certainly take down the scare factor quite a bit. Additional activities include face painting, author readings and more.
