The One Ocean Film Tour is a world-class experience highlighting films focused on a love for the ocean, adventure and the aquatic environment. The shorts range from 8 to 25 minutes and can be viewed at a free event on Sunday, August 2 at the Southampton Arts Center (SAC).

"The collective vision of the films is to protect our seas and share stories about people who have dedicated their lives to the ocean," Elyn Kronemeyer, SAC Trustee and event co-sponsor, stated. "The evening highlights six ocean focused films that were chosen to educate and inspire audiences to find ways in which they can make decisions that will help keep our beaches clean and preserve our ocean waters."

The outdoor screening will begin at 8 p.m.

The One Ocean Film Tour Southampton stop will encompass The Great Whale, Tipping Point, The Armstrongs, Cruise Ships in Monterey Bay, Untrashing Djulpan and 115 Feet of Freedom.

The Great Whale (12 minutes) follows Michael Fishbach, a whale conservationist on a quest to save the critically endangered blue whale, which is the largest mammal ever to exist on earth. It is estimated that there are only 10,000 left.

Tipping Point (11 minutes) tells the story of three young adventures, who set out on a harrowing expedition that pushes their mental, physical, and emotional capabilities to the limit.

The Armstrongs (8 minutes) explores the life of Ian Armstrong. The world-renowned big wave South African surfer and his family lead an unconventional life and redefine what is "normal."

Cruise Ships in Monterey Bay (10 minutes) follows a group of environmental activists that oppose cruise ships docking in Monterey Bay. Locals are concerned that a mishap could result in catastrophic implications for the well-being of the National Marine Sanctuary.

In Untrashing Djulpan (25 minutes), Sea Shepherd delves into the devastating impact marine plastic pollution has on our oceans and coastlines.

115 Feet of Freedom (14 minutes) follows three-time kite surfing world champion Jalou Langeree, who sets out to prove women can excel in the male dominated industry.

Due to COVID-19, there will not be restrooms available for outdoor programming. Movie-goers must wear masks and adhere to social distancing. There will be orange markers placed every ten feet for reference in following social distancing guidelines. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs, blankets and picnics.
