Each month, HamptonsFilm
screens an array of first-run, acclaimed art house, independent films at Guild Hall
as part of its Now Showing
series. While Guild Hall is closed through May 31, Now Showing
will continue virtually, so you can enjoy the riveting cinema at home.
"We are thrilled to be able to continue our popular weekly series Now Showing
," Anne Chaisson
, HamptonsFilm Executive Director, said. "Each week we will send a newsletter notification with the link to a film that isn't available on any current TV or streaming platforms."
The featured films will also be available on HamptonsFilm's website. New movies will drop on Mondays.
"This allows HamptonsFilm the ability to present our audience to new films that you can screen in the comfort of your own home," Chaisson added.
The March 30 feature is Kleber Mendonça Filho and Juliano Dornelles' Bacurau
. Additional upcoming screenings include Alex Thompson's Saint Frances
(week of April 6), Daniel Roher's Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and the Band
(week of April 13), and Ken Loach's Sorry We Missed You
(week of April 27).
"Tickets" are $12 and allow you to watch the film for five days. Proceeds will support HamptonsFilm, Guild Hall and the film's distributor.
Additionally, HamptonsFilm has launched a new virtual series, Friday Flashback. Each Friday HamptonsFilm will recommend a movie (that's available on streaming platforms) and post a YouTube video of a special HamptonsFilm conversation - with the film's stars, directors, or other special guests.
The premiere Friday Flashback on March 20 celebrated Victor/Victoria
and star Julie Andrews
. The Friday Flashback on March 27 highlighted Bryan Fogel's Icarus
