Music for Montauk (M4M) is honoring the start of sweet floral scents filling the air, birds chirping with song, dewdrops covering the ground, and the anticipation of warmer weather by bringing "rapture and heartache with young love, spring and song."

On Saturday, May 7th, join the community based non-profit for its 2016 Spring Concert, Young Love, Spring and Song. The complimentary show will take place at the Montauk Public School Auditorium (South Dorset Drive, Montauk) at 4 p.m.

The afternoon will feature Mendelssohn's String Quartet in A minor, Opus 13, "an intensely passionate, beautiful and exciting work, written by a teenage prodigy in the throes of love." The concert will also showcase works by Mozart and others.

"It's all about youth, energy and an unmitigated intensity of feeling that ignites exciting creativity!" said Lilah Gosman, Artistic Director.

A duo of rising stars set the scene as they take the audience on an emotion rollercoaster, singing about the idealism, doubt, suffering, desire, and hope experienced with puppy love. And, several favorites from the 2015 season are back for Young Love, Spring and Song. The string quartet of Annaliesa Place, Joanna Maurer on violin, violist Jessica Meyer, and Diego Garcia on cello, who performed during last year's Summer Series, will return to the stage as the core ensemble for the Mendelssohn quartet. They will be accompanied by soprano Rebecca Farley and tenor Alex McKissick, two up-and-coming stars from the Juilliard School, with Miloö Repicky on piano.

Once the powerful performance has come to a close, Music for Montauk will celebrate the new season and the talented musicians during a Spring Awakening Party at Gosman's Restaurant (500 West Lake Drive, Montauk). From 5:30 to 7 p.m., partygoers will enjoy a buffet dinner and drinks. Tickets to the post-concert bash are $30 in advance and $40 at the door. Tickets can be purchased online or at Naturally Good (779 NY-27, Montauk) and White's Liquors (29 The Plaza, Montauk).

Admission to Young Love, Spring and Song is free.

M4M's mission is to offer a fresh and dynamic approach to classical music that the entire community can enjoy. They hope to awaken the audience's passion for music by providing accessible, dramatic, beautiful, and at times, comedic experiences.
