Annual Hamptons "Thanksgiving Collective" To Reflect Upon Good In The World

Anastasia Lennon

So, who gave you the permission to commit god's sins? by Rene Ricard.

On Saturday, November 25 (A.K.A. Small Business Saturday), the Tripoli Gallery will unveil its latest exhibit, There is Still Good in This World.

This show marks the Southampton-based gallery's 13th annual Thanksgiving Collective and will feature works from artists Todd Bienvenu, Quentin Curry, Félix Bonilla Gerena, April Gornik, Mary Heilmann, Yung Jake, Benjamin Keating, Enoc Perez, Rene Ricard, Rachel Rossin, and Lola Montes.

As made apparent by the exhibit's title, the artwork captures the good side of humanity. "All we do is look down anymore, we need to look up because there is good in this world," said artist Benjamin Keating. "This Thanksgiving Collective, we give thanks to those unwavering souls that will never give up on this, the true meaning of being alive."

The artworks - which will be expressed in many mediums such as paint, poetry, acrylic sculpture, metal, and print - consider the ineffable beauty of life, landscape, past, and future. The viewer is reminded through personal narrative, humor, love, and relationships that there is good in the world and things for which to be thankful.

An opening reception will take place on Saturday, November 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. and the exhibit will remain on view until Monday, January 29, 2017.

The Tripoli Gallery is located at 30 Jobs Lane in Southampton. For more information, please call 631-377-3715 or visit www.tripoligallery.com.
