In addition to the fabulous art exhibitions at the Parrish Art Museum all year long, Cadillac Moon Ensemble and Landscape Music Composers Network will celebrate the centennial of the National Park Service with a concert of new chamber music evoking landscape, ecology, wildlife, and adventure. Cadillac Moon Ensemble will take the stage at the Parrish on Friday, September 9th at 6 p.m.

"The pieces on this concert will transport listeners to national parks around the country, reflect on wildlife conservation, and evoke universal experiences of nature such as seasons, soundscapes, and vistas," remarked classical composer, Nell Shaw Cohen, who is a member of the Landscape Music Composers Network. "Our goal is to provide the audience with an engaging, beautiful, and thought-provoking experience connecting to the natural world through music, regardless of whether they're aficionados of contemporary classical music."

Shaw Cohen is originally from Sag Harbor and is now based in New York City. She has previously collaborated with the Parrish on two standing-room-only concerts.

"As a former long-time Sag Harbor resident, I think this concert will resonate with our community because the East End's art, history, and culture are so inextricably tied to its natural environment," said Shaw Cohen. "The Parrish is an especially meaningful setting in which to experience this music, since peoples' relationship to landscape are at the core of museum's collection and architecture."

Cadillac Moon Ensemble is comprised of Roberta Michel on the flute, Sean Staster on percussion, Karen Kim on the violin, and Aminda Asher on the cello. They are one of New York City's most visible new music groups.

Some of the work performed during the evening will include Hall of the White Giant for marimba by Stephen Lias, Vista for violin and electronics by Alex Shapiro, and Celestial Seasons for cello by Stephen Wood.

Tickets are $20 or $10 for members and students. Along with entry to the concert, tickets also grant admission into the Museum.

The Parrish Art Museum is located at 279 Montauk Highway in Water Mill. For more information, call 631-283-2118 or visit parrishart.org.
