First Man, the latest from Damien Chazelle, the Academy Award®-winning director of La La Land - which screened during the 2016 Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF) - will be featured during the 2018 HIFF as the Saturday Night Centerpiece Film.

Chazelle once again teamed up with Ryan Gosling for the film, which follows the groundbreaking NASA mission to put a man on the moon. Gosling stars as Neil Armstrong, with Claire Foy as Janet Shearon, and Corey Stoll at Buzz Aldrin. First Man will be making its East Coast Premiere at HIFF, and Chazelle as well as Academy Award®-winning screenwriter Josh Singer will be in attendance.

Alfonso Cuarón's Roma will screen on Sunday, October 7 as part of the Spotlight section. The film is a semi-autobiographical exploration of a middle-class family living amongst political uncertainty and patriarchal rule. Producer Gabriela Rodriguez will be in attendance.

Additionally, the 2018 Festival will feature the U.S. Premiere of Kirill Serebrennikov's Leto, Benedikt Erlingsson's Women at War and Wolfgang Fischer's Styx, the New York Premiere of Christina Gallego and Ciro Guerra's Birds of Passage, and the World Premiere of Rachel Carey's Ask for Jane in the World Cinema Narrative section. Lee Chang-Dong's Burning, Pawel Pawlikowski's Cold War, Gustav Möller's The Guilty, Hirokazu Kore-eda's Shoplifters, and Madeleine Olnek's Wild Nights with Emily will also screen.

The World Cinema Documentary section will feature the World Premiere of Peter Jones's Henri Dauman: Looking Up, the East Coast Premiere of Ken Wardrop's Making the Grade, and the New York Premiere of Maxim Pozdorovkin's The Truth About Killer Robots, as well as Barbara Kopple's A Murder in Mansfield, Jill Magid's The Proposal, Nancy Schwartzman's Roll Red Roll, and Sandi Tan's Shirkers.

"We are delighted to bring a dynamic mix of international stories to this year's festival from both returning filmmakers and new voices in cinema," noted David Nugent, Artistic Director of the Hamptons International Film Festival. "We are also thrilled to include some of this Fall's most anticipated and buzzworthy films and for the opportunity to share them with our audience."

The 26th annual Hamptons International Film Festival will take place Thursday, October 4 through Monday, October 8.
