An opening reception for the Fall Art Show will be held on Friday, November 4th, from 4 to 6 p.m. Admission to the celebration is free and the event is open to the public. If you like to learn the story behind a piece you're interested in, many of the artists attend the opening, so this is the perfect opportunity to support the local arts community and learn exactly how the piece you take home came to be.

The organization's mission is to "encourage the community of visual artists on the East End of Long Island" and does so by offering outreach programs to all ages. Those looking to fine-tune their skills can take one of the year-round SAA workshops at the Southampton Cultural Center that cover oil painting, drawing and watercolors. SAA also hosts classes that are geared specifically towards local youth and awards high school students with scholarships annually. Additionally, this past June, SAA held a complimentary art and memoir writing workshop for the VFW community in a "meet and greet" gathering.
