Contact is defined as "a coming together or touching." On Saturday, October 3rd and Sunday, October 4th, several contemporary artists will explore the significance of interaction, connection, and communication during Contact., a pop-up exhibition at Ashawagh Hall. Works will include contemporary paintings, sculptures, photography and mixed media.

"The works of 45 artists and the Artists' Reception itself, encompass many meanings of Contact: a coming together, a touching, a connection or interaction," shared Ellen Dooley.

Dooley, a painter and mixed media artist with a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, curated the exhibition, which is a follow-up to her previous East Hampton exhibitions, Resolve, Shadow, Broke*n, Fear, Purgatory, On the Horizon, and Curious.

Contact has had a significant role in works throughout history. "It is only when I lose contact with the painting that the result is a mess," said Jackson Pollock. "Otherwise there is pure harmony, an easy give and take, and the painting comes out well."

Featured artists will include Mary Antzak, Abby Abrams, Lucille Berrill Paulsen, Nancy Benzenberg Kiembock, Susan Bradfield, Ann Brandeis, Rosalind Brenner, Michael Cardacino, Susan Carlo, Mary Delaney, David Demers, Marilyn DiCarlo-Ames, Ellen Dooley, Robin DuPlessis, Tina Folks, Gerry Giliberti, Barbara Groot, Steve Haweeli, Scott Hewett, Bill Kiriazis, Lisa Kiss, Mary Laspia, Pia Leighton, Cynthia Loewen, Keith Mantell, Andrea McCafferty, Veronica Mezzina, Mary Milne, Savio Mizzi, Jonathan Morse, Jeanelle Myers, Ron Papageorge, Toby Papageorge, Guy Pierno, Zoe Pennebaker Breen, Joyce Raimondo, Doug Reina, Gabriele Raacke, Leo Revi, Bob Rothstein, Will Ryan, Catherine B.
