Platform: Jonah Bokaer
(on view Saturday, July 9th through Sunday, October 16th) is a limitless offer for a solo artist to view the Parrish as a prospective spot "for works that transcend disciplinary boundaries." Bokaer, an interdisciplinary artist, combines choreography, visual art, film, sound, and artistic research. His works investigate the relationship between choreography and the expression of movement.
(on view Sunday, May 8th through Sunday, July 24th) connects contemporary "offshore art" with land, performance, and conceptual arts of the 1960s and 1970s. The exhibit features works ranging from artist-made vessels to documentation of creative expeditions.
Lastly, The Permanent Collection: Collections and Context
(on view through October) presents roughly 70 paintings, sculptures, and works on paper in nine thematic, mini-narratives that explore the concept of dialogue, specifically how artworks interact with each other. Some works in this exhibit have been presented at the Parrish Art Museum and others are being shown for the very first time.
