East Hampton's Guild Hall Celebrates Museum Re-Opening

On Friday afternoon, Guild Hall celebrated their re-opening to the public, with proper social distancing, and the 82nd Artists Members Exhibition still on view. Executive Director Andrea Grover, Board Chairman Marty Cohen and Michele Cohen welcomed the guests.

Drive-Through Ceremony Held For Southampton High School Class Of 2020

The Southampton High School Class of 2020 received their diplomas during a drive-through ceremony at the high school. Graduates and their loved ones arrived in decorated cars and paraded to a festive podium, where they were given their diplomas. The celebration concluded with a cap toss and yearbook signing. Prior to the ceremony, the district hosted a drive-through celebration that provided seniors with the chance to wave goodbye to their teachers and their school.

Hampton Bays High School Class Of 2020 Receive Diplomas During Drive-Through Commencement

The Hampton Bays High School Class of 2020 was presented with their diplomas during drive-through commencement ceremonies held on June 26 and 27. Superintendent Lars Clemensen spoke about each senior’s accomplishments as family members documented the moment. In addition to their diplomas, seniors also received adopt-a-senior gift bags featuring items donated by generous community members and businesses. In addition to the drive-through ceremony, the Class of 2020 was also celebrated during a graduation parade over the Ponquogue Bridge and a parade through the district’s three campuses, as well as a virtual graduation ceremony.

Westhampton Beach High Honors Class Of 2020 During Five Separate Ceremonies

Westhampton Beach High celebrated the Class of 2020 during five separate ceremonies held on the school’s football field. While the entire grade wasn't able to graduate at the same time because of gathering limitations due to COVID-19, the intimate ceremonies kept as much to Hurricane tradition as possible. Donning masks, small groups of seniors lined up to march to “Pomp and Circumstance” as family members looked on from the stands. Speakers included Principal Dr. Christopher Herr, student representatives, valedictorian Kay Horak and salutatorian Kathleen Kelly.

Pierson Class Of 2024 Commemorate The Move To High School

Pierson Middle School eighth graders marked the move to high school with a special video prepared for the school's virtual celebration. The film encompassed photos of the classmates learning and engaging with causes, school trips and having fun with friends captured their joyful journey through middle school.

Aquebogue Elementary School Holds Drive-Through Clap-Out For Fourth Graders

Graduation for fourth graders at Aquebogue Elementary School looked quite different this year. Instead of the traditional ceremony, a drive-through clap-out was held. Students were greeted by smiling parents as they passed through the school's parking lot.

On Tuesday, June 23 and Wednesday, June 24, The Neo-Political Cowgirls invited the community to pen congratulatory wishes to East Hampton High School seniors. Participants were given a square of fabric where they could write a congratulatory wish, poem, or bit of wisdom that will be hung as part of the Together/Apart Senior Wall of Wishes Community Art project. Those interested can come to the High School from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

East Hampton Town Artists Highlight Their Works Curbside During "Art Apart" Event

On Saturday, art enthusiasts had the opportunity to visit 70 roadside "art galleries" from the safety of their cars and with appropriate social distancing, as East Hampton artists showed off their recent works curbside at their home or studio. The event was produced by artist Idoline Duke and East Hampton Arts Council.

East End Against Hate Holds Montauk Black Lives Matter Peaceful Protest And March

The student based and led anti-racism group, East End Against Hate (EEAH), that "aims to educate the community on racial injustices," organized another peaceful protest at the Henry "Hank" Zebrowski Memorial Soccer Field on South Erie Street in Montauk. This gathering follows the group's recent demonstration in Sag Harbor on June 5 where more than 300 demonstrators peacefully showed their solidarity in the "Fight for racial equality and an end to police brutality," as part of the Black Lives Matter movement.
