"Our goal is to get more women seeing themselves as having a voice," shared Lauren Leader-Chivee, Co-Founder and CEO of All in Together, a non-partisan organization dedicated to increasing women's political participation, on all levels.

On Saturday, August 1st, All in Together hosted its inaugural party to raise awareness for the organization. Held at a private estate in East Hampton, the benefit had a great turnout, including Southampton Town Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst and Marie Claire Editor-in-Chief Anne Fulenwider, who was a co-host of the event.

"I just thought it sounded like a wonderful and much-needed organization," Fulenwider told Hamptons.com. She has been in touch with Leader-Chivee, about the organization, since the very beginning of All in Together. Marie Claire has also started to cover more stories about women making a change, whether it be in the workplace, the tech world or politics.

"Lauren and I had lots of conversations together about what was needed and she really got me enthused on this and asked me to join the board," Fulenwider explained.

The event's goal was to raise awareness for this new organization that was just established in January of 2015. All in Together's mission is to bridge the gender gap, and ensure that women have full participation in American democracy.

"We're small and mighty, but the goal of the event tonight is to build awareness," said Courtney Emerson, Co-Founder and COO of All in Together. "To talk about why political leadership is a huge component of women's leadership in the United States." Emerson noted that women can get more involved in politics by writing letters to a member of congress, attending town hall meetings or running for a seat in their local government. She, as well as the rest of the organization, hopes to jump-start the conversation about women's leadership in government and encourage women to get involved.

"Women are leading in all kinds of spheres and we are doing better than ever before, but when it comes to our political leadership, we are really behind the curve, and it's unacceptable," Leader-Chivee said. She told Hamptons.com that her mother, who was very involved with the women's movement, inspires her. "We're the majority of the population and the majority of the electorate, and we need our country to reflect our interests, even though those interests are diverse," noted Leader-Chivee. "It's too important not to do."

Leader-Chivee believes that there is such a big gap in women in politics because of the lack of conversation about the issue. She said discussions are mainly about women in business, rather than women in politics.

"I look up to any woman who has the guts, courage and the confidence to run for any office," Fulenwider said. She noted that women have very strong opinions and are passionate about doing good for their community, but sometimes just need that extra push to go for it. "I'm just really excited for this organization to take flight, and I'm really thrilled to be a part of the beginning of it," she reflected.
