On Saturday, August 27th, over 500 people gathered at the Sagaponack estate of William and Julie Macklowe to raise $1 million during the third annual VH1
Save the Music Foundation Hamptons Live fundraiser. It was a smashing success with great weather, great people and great music. The mission of this nonprofit is to restore music programs in public schools across the United States while raising the awareness of the importance of music to a basic education.

Girl group Fifth Harmony performed their hits while wearing red bodysuit leotards that helped portray their amazing energy. Before Fifth Harmony took the stage, music was provided by DJ Cassidy
who showcased his great skills at mixing, blending and selecting songs that had everyone dancing the whole time. I can see why the Obama's have used him for White House functions.
The refreshment and food tables were so plentiful that at the end of the night, all food displays were fully stocked. I am so glad my wife Cindi and I were able to witness this function and hear all the success stories of how music taught in public schools helped transformed so many lives for the better. Everyone is welcomed to contribute.
"We are so grateful for all those who made tonight possible, including our host committee, co-chairs Julie and Billy Macklowe and Chris McCarthy, and the amazingly talented Fifth Harmony and DJ Cassidy," shared Henry Donahue, executive director of VH1 Save The Music Foundation. "Their generous efforts and support are critical for our work to ensure that every student in America has access to a quality music education."

Along with Hamptons Live, VH1 Save The Music will award a local Long Island or Hamptons public school a piano that is valued at $10,000. Schools can enter the contest by posting a video on VH1 Save The Music Foundation's Facebook page that describes why their school should win the piano using #SaveTheMusic.
