On Thursday, September 10th, members of New York's philanthropic, business, civic and 9/11 communities came together to support Tuesday's Children during its annual "Roots of Resilience" Gala at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City
"Every year we come together to reconfirm our commitment to all impacted by the events of Tuesday, September 11th and, more recently, victims of domestic terrorism and global conflict," said Terry Sears
, executive director of Tuesday's Children. "Year after year, with the generous support of donors, supporters and partners, Tuesday's Children continues to expand our services to meet the needs of our families locally and world-wide."
The evening paid tribute to award-winning rapper, entrepreneur, producer and actor Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, who was honored with the "Keep the Promise" award. Jackson's artistic talents and philanthropic endeavors have helped raise over $150,000 for Tuesday's Children's programs.
Alex and Ani Founder, Creative Director and CEO Carolyn Rafaelian and Alex and Ani SVP of Global Brand Relations Nicki Maher were also honored during the event for their constant support of Tuesday's Children. "Tonight, it is with great pride that we honor Carolyn Rafaelian, Nicki Maher and Curtis Jackson," shared Sears about the Gala, which raised $500,000.
